How Long Does It Take to Learn Eyebrow Tattooing? Can You Take Clients Right After the Course?
If you’re looking for an eyebrow tattoo course in Bangkok to start a new career, or you’re already a Microblading artist looking to upgrade your skills to Machine Hairstroke, you’re probably wondering: How long does it take to learn, and can I start taking clients right after the course?
The number of training days matters, but what matters even more is what you can actually do by the end of the course.
Eyebrow tattooing isn’t just about memorizing a pattern or creating beautiful strokes. You need to understand brow structure, shape, color, skin types,
machine control, hand pressure, and how to adjust your technique for different clients.
So if you’re comparing PMU or Hairstroke courses in Bangkok, don’t only ask, “How many days is the course?”
Also ask: Who will be teaching me? How much hands-on practice will I get? And what happens if I still need more practice after the course ends?
How many days does it take to learn eyebrow tattooing?
There isn’t one answer that works for everyone because every student starts at a different level.
A complete beginner may need more time to become comfortable holding the machine, controlling pressure, and creating consistent strokes.
Someone with Microblading experience may already understand brow structure and hair patterns, but switching from a blade to a machine for
Machine Hairstroke requires a different type of control and technique.
So for us, “knowing how to do it” isn’t simply about completing a certain number of training days.
It means understanding what you’re doing and being able to perform each step correctly on your own.
Especially if your goal is to turn PMU into a career, building the right foundation is much more important than finishing a course as quickly as possible.
Can I start taking clients right after finishing an eyebrow tattoo course?
Some students may be ready sooner than others, but completing a course doesn’t automatically mean you should start taking clients the next day.
Before working independently, ask yourself:
Can I analyze a client’s natural brows and create an appropriate shape?
Can I control my machine and hand pressure consistently?
Do I understand the flow of Hairstroke, rather than simply memorizing a pattern?
And if a client’s brows look completely different from the model I practiced on, do I know how to approach the case?
This is especially important with Hairstroke eyebrows.
Good Hairstroke work isn’t just about making thin, crisp lines. The strokes need to flow naturally with the client’s existing brow hair,
and the technique needs to be adjusted depending on skin type and brow condition.
A certificate shows that you’ve completed your training.
Being ready for clients should be based on your actual skills.
That idea is at the heart of how we teach at Madam Studio Academy:
Learn until you can do it — not until the class time runs out.
## What makes eyebrow training at Madam Studio Academy different?
At Madam Studio Academy in Silom, Bangkok, eyebrow training is taught as a Private 1:1 Class.
And for us, “private” means more than simply being the only student in the room.
It means having direct access to your instructor throughout the training.
Your instructor can closely observe how you hold the machine, your hand angle, pressure, needle depth, stroke flow,
and even how you think when analyzing a client’s brows.
You can ask questions as you work and receive feedback on what you are actually doing, rather than only watching a demonstration
and trying to recreate it later.
Most importantly, attendance alone doesn’t determine whether a student passes.
Students are expected to understand and perform each required step to the standard of the course.
If there’s an area you haven’t passed yet, you can come back, correct it, and continue learning with your instructor without paying additional tuition.
We don’t want students to leave with a certificate while still wondering what they were doing wrong.
Learn directly from an instructor with over 9 years of PMU experience
When choosing an eyebrow tattoo or Hairstroke course, the person teaching you matters.
The instructor at Madam Studio Academy has over 9 years of experience in Permanent Makeup,
with continuous professional training from 2017 to the present.
Her education has included training with academies and masters in Thailand, across Asia, and in Europe, covering
Eyebrows, Microblading, Hairstroke, Lips, Eyeliner, Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), and Paramedical Micropigmentation.
Her professional experience also includes international beauty competition experience in Korea, where she received second runner-up recognition in 2025.
But the number of years alone isn’t what matters most to us.
She still trains.
In 2026, her continued education includes Advanced Scalp Micropigmentation and a Douyin Hairstroke Master Class.
PMU continues to evolve — from machines and needles to stroke patterns and the type of results clients want today.
We believe an instructor shouldn’t teach only what they learned years ago.
Students should receive a strong foundation combined with techniques and knowledge that continue to evolve with the industry.
Complete beginner? You can start here. Microblading artist? You can upskill too.
Students at Madam don’t all arrive with the same background.
Some have never held a PMU machine before.
Others are already working eyebrow artists, particularly Microblading artists who want to upgrade their skills and learn Machine Hairstroke.
These two students shouldn’t necessarily be taught in exactly the same way.
For beginners, the instructor can spend more time on machine handling, hand pressure, fundamentals, and building good habits from the beginning.
For experienced artists, the training can focus more closely on the areas that need improvement — such as machine control, stroke flow, pressure, or transitioning from a Microblading mindset to Machine Hairstroke.
That’s one of the biggest advantages of Private 1:1 PMU training.
You don’t have to keep up with someone else’s pace. The details of the training can be adapted to your current skill level while maintaining
the same standards you’re expected to reach.
Come back and practice for free for one month
One thing we’ve learned from teaching students over the years is that some of the most important questions come after the class.
Everything may make sense while your instructor is standing beside you.
Then you pick up the machine on your own and suddenly think, “Why doesn’t this stroke look the same?”
That’s why students at Madam Studio Academy can
return to the academy for additional practice for one month after their course, with no additional training fee.
You can come back to practice your hand technique or work with a live model.
Students are welcome to bring their own model. If you don’t have one, the academy can also assist in arranging a model for an additional model fee.
And if there’s something you still haven’t mastered, you can bring it back to your instructor, get feedback, and correct it.
We don’t want the learning process to become:
“The course is over. Now figure it out on your own.”
The period after class is an important part of turning what you’ve learned into a skill you can actually use.
A full equipment set to continue practicing after the course
Another thing beginners often don’t think about when choosing an eyebrow tattoo course is what happens when they get home.
If you finish the course but don’t have a machine, needles, pigments, or the basic supplies needed to practice,
it becomes much harder to keep your hands moving.
Students at Madam receive a full equipment set to take home, including a PMU machine, needles, pigments, gloves,
and a wide range of training and working supplies.
You’ll also receive a Thai–English training manual for reviewing what you’ve learned after class.
The equipment isn’t there just to be used during training. It’s yours to continue practicing with.
For international students, this is especially useful:
Train in Bangkok. Take your equipment home. Keep practicing.
International students can learn directly with the instructor in English
Madam Studio Academy regularly welcomes international students, so training is available in both Thai and English.
And by English training, we don’t simply mean an English workbook or translated course materials.
International students can communicate directly with the instructor in English throughout the course
— from theory and demonstrations to hands-on practice, live-model work, and instructor feedback.
This is particularly important when learning Hairstroke.
Small details such as machine angle, pressure, depth, and stroke direction can make a significant difference.
You shouldn’t have to rely only on watching and copying.
You should be able to ask “Why?” and receive an explanation you understand.
Our goal is for international students to have the same access to the instructor and the same level of detail as our Thai students.
Planning to travel to Bangkok for PMU training? Talk to your instructor before you book
We understand that choosing an eyebrow tattoo course in Thailand is a much bigger decision when you’re traveling from another country.
You may be comparing several PMU academies, arranging flights and accommodation,
or wondering whether the course is suitable for your current experience.
That’s why international students are welcome to arrange an
online consultation, video call, or online meeting directly with the instructor before deciding to enroll.
You can meet your instructor face-to-face online, ask about the course, explain what you want to achieve, and discuss your current experience.
If you’re already a PMU or Microblading artist, you can also share your previous work so the instructor can better understand what you would like to improve during your Hairstroke training.
We want you to know
who you’ll be learning from, whether you can communicate comfortably, and whether the training matches your goals before you travel to Bangkok.
For us, being flexible with international students starts before they even arrive in Thailand.
Why Silom is convenient for students coming to Bangkok
Madam Studio Academy is located in Silom–Surawong, central Bangkok,
making it a convenient base for students traveling from other parts of Thailand or from overseas.
The area offers accommodation across different budgets, from hostels to five-star hotels,
so students can choose somewhere that fits the way they want to travel.
There are restaurants and cafés around the academy, including a café right next to us, while voco Bangkok Surawong is located across the road.
After training, it’s also easy to explore the Silom area or visit nearby shopping and lifestyle destinations such as Dusit Central Park.
For international students coming to Bangkok specifically for PMU training, this makes it easier to plan your course, accommodation, meals,
and free time without having to spend your entire stay traveling across the city.
Train during the day. Enjoy Bangkok after class.
